Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq takes charge as Gwadar University VC

nGwadar UpdatesnnFirst Vice-Chancellor of the University of Gwadar. Prof Dr. Abdul Razzaq Sabir assumed charge of the University of Gwadar, on Friday 29th October. nnHe was appointed as the VC by Governor of Balochistan Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha on 25th October 2021. His academic, professional, and administrative experience span over a tenure of 40 years. He has served as a first and founder VC for the university of Turbat from May 2013 to March 2021. During his short tenure at Turbat University, he has accomplished many milestones. He has also served as a Vice-Chairman Department of Asian Languages in the University of Jordan Amman at Education Culture and Media Coordinator of the Pakistan Embassy in Jordan. Dr. Sabir was also honored with Tamgha-i-Imtiaz from the Government of Pakistan for his academic and literary services.n

Gwadar to be a logistic hub in the region in 5 yrs: Zhang Baozhong Chairman of China Overseas Port Holding Company (COPHC)

nGwadar UpdatesnnWhile reviewing the 5-year journey of Gwadar, Zhang Baozhong stated “According to our plan, Gwadar would become the logistic hub in this region within 5 years!”  nnZhang stated that logistics is one of the integral businesses for Gwadar, as the city is a gateway to Middle Asian countries. He highlighted that a proper volume of other businesses is also required to handle the port. Moreover, a good logistic system is requisite to handle the cargo efficiently. Free zone development and port development are twin brothers, said Zhang.n

China working to develop economic forest industry in Gwadar

nGwadar UpdatesnnProfessor Wang Sen from the Central South University of Forestry and Technology (CSUFT) has revealed that China is indulging in the development of Gwadar’s forest along with port development. He has been spearheading research since 2018, on the tropical arid desert of Gwadar. Until now they have been successful in cultivating a garden at CPEC Gwadar with various species of woody and floral plants. nnHe holds the opinion that if economic crops are planted in the right way, the forests can grow thicker with time. Furthermore, this project is in coordination with the Pakistan Ministry of Climate Change, the University of Karachi, and Indus University.n

First Pakistan-China Technical Vocational Institute officially inaugurated in Gwadar

nGwadar UpdatesnnChina aided Technical and Vocational training institute under CPEC is the first successfully completed CPEC project in Gwadar at a cost of $10 million in only 20 months.nnThe students at the Pak-China Technical and Vocational Institute at Gwadar Port will receive free accommodation and scholarships during their training in the institute.
