INFRASTRUCTURAL NETWORK UNDER CPEC

This network will link Pakistan with Western China and Central Asian Countries as well. China has announced US$11 Billion for the upgrading and modernization of transportation infrastructure.nnFor cargo transport under CPEC three courses have been identified namely the Eastern Route, the Western Route and Central Route. The 1,157 km Eastern Route connects two large cities Lahore and Karachi with a 4-6 lane highway for travel that will speed up to 120 kilometers/hour. This eastern route under CPEC is divided into four sections that are 136 Km M9 Motorway between Karachi & Hyderabad, 296 Km M6 Motorway between Hyderabad & Sukkur, 392 Km M5 Motorway linking Sukkur & Multan and 333 Km Motorway between Multan & Lahore through the town of Abdul Hakeem.nnnn1,153 Km of Western Route will mainly pass through the province of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).This project is divided into 6 parts that are 285 Km Hakla–Dera Ismail Khan Motorway, 210 Km D.I Khan (Yarik) to Zhob (N-50), 431 Km Khuzdar to Quetta to Chaman Section (N-25), 449Km Surab to Hoshab (N-85) and 193 Km Gwadar to Turbat to Hoshab (M-8).nnThere is no progress on CPEC Central Route, the Government of Pakistan has deferred this route.
