Moreover, both sides discussed the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) of Gwadar and other areas. The Pakistani representatives were keen to sign a framework agreement with China during the next meeting.nnAs of now, the progress of Special Economic Zones, where developmental work has already started, is rather slow according to China. Therefore, China is not ready to sign another framework agreement with Pakistan.nnTo deal with the situation, Pakistani representatives and project managers of these SEZs are trying their best to show progress. Therefore, the work on these SEZs is in full swing these days;n

nThe development works at the Rashakai SEZ have been completed since September, 2020. However, the installation of allied facilities at the said SEZ still hasn’t taken place.nnThe Federal Minister of Finance, Hammad Azhar, stated how important CPEC is for Pakistan’s economy. He said that if Pakistan’s government plans to upgrade energy and communication infrastructure, then completing the CPEC projects efficiently is the only way to go.nnHe stressed the need for early completion of all the projects that fall under the umbrella of CPEC. Moreover, the CPEC Authority assured the Chinese ambassador, full support and assistance throughout the whole developmental process of CPEC.nnThe meeting was concluded by thanking China for its provision of COVID-19 vaccines.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/6″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
