Gwadar City’s Master Plan*: Breakdown of Commercial Aspects

The level of development in a city is measured by the quantum of businesses, markets, shops and industries it harbours, as well as the quality of these commercial activities. In the previous part of the master plan series you were made aware of the residential options in Gwadar. Keep reading to find out the commercial facets that lie in the Gwadar Master Plan*.

According to popular belief, an isolated area with a minimalistic provision of necessities, let alone luxuries, is not a preferred one. People tend to opt for more residentially populated and commercially dense localities for a more peaceful, hassle-free living.

Usually, a serene residential community with bustling markets on their peripheries is a people’s favourite as shops, businesses, offices and recreational establishments all add to the quality of living of the buyers.

One such highlighted housing society which stands most prominently, is Gwadar Central. It is marked as a category-A community on the master plan being the ultimate amalgamation of residential and commercial options. It is ideally located at the intersection of three vital pathways of Gwadar City, i.e the 280 ft. Coastal Highway, 150 ft. Sarawan Avenue, and the 150 ft. Buleda Avenue. However, the obverse side of this aspect is its mere 1 km proximity to Jinnah Avenue, which is the focal boulevard and main commercial hub in Gwadar.

The Gwadar Master Plan* is expected to show Gwadar in all its glory, brimming with residential options with ancillary commercial benefits and opportunities, complementing the former. So far, the informal master plan, depicts both a well thought out, as well as a strategically planned nexus of work and play. The available land has been carefully utilized to build playgrounds, parks, shopping and entertainment areas. All shapes and sizes of businesses are expected to break ground and set shop in Gwadar in light of its enormous potential to succeed as an extensively planned city along with an anticipated massive tourist influx all around the year.

Similarly, Pishukan Avenue, near to Gwadar Central Housing Society, is another conspicuous element in the Master Plan*. It displays the development of a community centre, a sports complex and a weekend bazaar as well.
