The Punjab Committee supervising progress of all CPEC projects set up a meeting on 6th November to discuss the upcoming projects. All members approved Taunsa Hydropower Project to meet the rising energy demand of the province. Moreover, the Finance Minister of Punjab, Mr. Makhdoom Hashim, highlighted the need and importance of expertise in the technology sector of Agriculture and Telecommunications in the region. He expressed how China’s expertise in the said sectors can prove to be very beneficial for the region.

Along with approving the hydropower plant, the committee concluded to add more agriculture and telecommunication related projects in the CPEC agenda for Punjab. As the chair of the meeting, the provincial finance minister directed designated members to prepare a proposal for Business Parks in Punjab. The committee also discussed the success of the Orange Line Metro Train Project which was inaugurated on 25th October by CM Usman Buzdar.
